The Department of Global Economics at SKKU is pleased to announce the 2026 SKKU–KEIO Joint research symposium. We encourage interested students to apply.
1. Purpose
A. To develop academic papers utilizing economic analysis methodologies learned in the curriculum
B. To promote research and build international networks through a joint academic conference with a prestigious overseas university
2. Schedule

3. Eligibility
① Individual Requirements
A. Must be a Global Economics student (3rd semester or above) enrolled in Spring 2026
B. Students who are on Leave of absence, completed coursework, or graduates are NOT eligible (including mid-program leave)
C. Must not violate scholarship regulations, including:
- Fewer than 12 credits or GPA below 2.0 in previous semester Disciplinary record
- Must be eligible for international travel and have at least 6 months of passport validity
※ If ineligible status is discovered, scholarships may be revoked even after payment
② Team Composition: Up to 3 members per team (1–2 member teams allowed)
③ Topic & Advisor Appointment
A. Topic: Any topic related to economics
B. Advisor:
- Must appoint a faculty advisor and submit confirmation form
- Deadline: April 8 (via department email: skku.gecon@skku.edu)
※ Teams without a confirmed advisor by the deadline will be disqualified
※ Participation is encouraged for students involved in URP (Undergraduate Research Program)
※ Returning participants must present a new or significantly improved topic
4. Application Procedure
A. Google Form Submission

B. Required Documents
1) Research Proposal (in English, max 10 pages)
2) Must include preliminary results and expected outcomes
3) Research Experience (if applicable)
- URP participation history
- Previous conference participation (with materials attached)
C. Submission Method
- Submit directly via email to the Department Chair

D. Deadline: April 8(Wed)
5. Benefits
A. Full coverage of airfare and accommodation
B. Certificate of participation
C. Eligibility for graduation evaluation of Global Economics Department
※ Expenses are provided as scholarships and require payment procedures
※ Other personal expenses must be covered individually
※ Certificate issued within 2 weeks after the conference (upon request)
※ Graduation requirements must be applied by individuals separately using the certificate
6. Final Report Submission (by Jun 30)
A. Mandatory for all selected participants
B. Max 2 pages using provided template
C. Submit via department email(skku.gecon@skku.edu)
D. Must include at least 3 photos from the program
※ Reports may be used for promotional purposes
7. Notes
A. Carefully review all guidelines before applying
B. Requirements may change for future conferences
C. Cancellation after selection requires full scholarship repayment and coverage of any cancellation fees
D. Failure to follow instructions may result in disqualification or scholarship withdrawal
E. Incomplete applications may be rejected without notice
